Subject: Frank Gazzano - long time former lake resident

Frank G. Gazzano, 91, passed away on August 14, 2008 in Mesa, Arizona. He was born in Butler, PA on July 20, 1917 to Italian immigrant parents Christopher and Anna. The family of 4 boys and 4 girls relocated to Garfield, NJ during Frank’s youth where he met his wife-to-be Henrietta Lehner and made many lifelong friendships. Married for 51 years “Frank and Hank” raised their children Kathleen, Michael (deceased), John, and Frank and spoiled their 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Frank served his country proudly in the Army with the 106th Infantry and saw action at the Battle of the Bulge. Frank and Henrietta moved to Lake Stockholm, NJ in 1957 where they resided until 2001. Frank worked at Merit Garment and Automatic Switch Company and was the proprietor for 20+ years of Gazzano’s Pro Shop at the Butler Bowl. Horseshoes and golf were his hobbies but bowling his vocation with a 221 league average and numerous 300 games to his credit. Frank is survived by his brothers Charles and Tommy, and sister Beatrice Lipincott, all of NJ. Frank was laid to rest at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona on August 18. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you make donations to the Hospice of the Valley, Frank would be pleased if you bowled a game, tossed a shoe, or teed one up.
