Project Size: Minimum US$50M

The borrower of the loan must be a private sector company:

Private investors must control at least 50 percent of the borrower's shares.

Target the development of infrastructure :

A priority on supporting private sector projects that contribute to the basic infrastructure and/or provide essential services that may have been performed by the public sector in the past.

Benefit the economy of the host country:

Activities that promote economic and social development in the region by utilizing the human, financial and material resources of above listed countries

Demonstrate financial and technical viability:

Operations that are financially, legally, technically, and economically sound. Proposals should demonstrate that the regulatory system supports the project's feasibility, that the projects are commercially viable, and that they meet the standards of the international financial community in terms of security structure.A high priority is attached to projects involving experienced firms with the financial resources and management capability to ensure the successful completion and long-term operation of a facility.

Comply with environmental and social requirements:

All projects financed must meet environmental, social, health and safety, and labor requirements. Projects must comply with all applicable country and international regulatory requirements, , including appropriate information disclosure and public consultation activities. Depending on the nature of the project, sponsors will be required to perform an assessment of project impacts and risks (such as environmental impact assessment or analysis, or environmental, health and safety audit) and develop and implement plans (such as environmental and social management plan, health and safety plan, etc.) in order to adequately prevent, control and mitigate project impacts and risks.
