My paternal grandmother, Mary Whately Applebe (married Moser), has a relative who I believe to be still alive somewhere in Texas, a sheriff named "Sonny" Applebe. I am not certain as to their relation, (brother, cousin?), but I would love to be able to try to contact him and/or learn anything about our family on the Applebe side since all other contacts have now died.
