I have a tintype image with an attached note saying that she is Eliza Coulter Appleby, born May 9th 1817, died Dec. 12, 1851. She was married to Joseph C Appleby. Her daughter, Josephine married name Black, bore a son, William Black. Nothing else is indicated as to where they lived, etc. Interestingly enough, my maiden name is Coulter!!
