Hi Ken,
Have you come across Thomas Appleby (born 1823 Nottingham ) who had a daughter Jane Birch Appleby (b 1844 Radford Nottingham ), and sons James (b1851) and Noah (b1849)
They were involved in Lacemaking in Nottingham.
Janes mother was Mary (surname unknown)
Jane Birch Appleby married Sidney Tutin.

I havent been able to get any further back.
