My grand mother was Thelma Merle Miller (nee Appleby) She had two sisters, Irene May, and Dulcie Joan, their father was one William Appleby. They lived in Happy Valley at the end of Lyons road in Mangatawhiri. (The farm became Hotel du Vin in the 1980s)
My grandmother used to talk about her Appleby grandparents who lived in their own home a few paddocks away.
I know that there has been some research done for my family tree and there is some information on this part of the family. If you would like to know more please do not hesitate to contact me.
Interesting to read (for me) in previous threads the names of people who the sisters were possibly named after.
