I think you do yourself down in terms of your own ability but then Barbershoppers are known for doing that.
Q: Are you a Musician?
A: No I am a Barbershopper!
The plain fact is that take away the music from alot of singers and they would struggle (even more than us!)
The way that a Barbershopper of even not too high a standard can find the missing note in a chord or even guess where the melody is going is a credit to him/her and the art form.
Back to the Club. We have had some great times in the Club, too numerous to mention here. However, it is still a thrill for me when we get that WOW feeling when a Chord just rings and the hairs go on the back of the neck etc. This may not necessarily be at a big show but could be just a rehearsal night or even a smaller group in a corner somewhere. Many of us will remember Blackpool's 21st Birthday when 14 of us brought the house down.
Ant way I am starting to ramble so I will sign off.
Basically we as singers should stand up and be very proud of what we do and what we achieve and for all our sakes keep doing it.
