DOOL was the show that my grandmother, my mother and I used to all watch together, beginning when I was just a little girl. I haven't watched for years, though. I'm sad to hear this news.

I first heard this news last night and was so saddened by this. Like Lea, Days was watched by generations in my family as well. Days was the first soap I ever watched. It seemed like Alice Horton was a grandmother to us all.

Even though I did not watch regularly the past few years and I have not watched since they go rid of John and Marlena I still tuned in to see the Horton family christmas every year.

I will certainly miss Frances Reid. This just makes you step back and realize that there are not that many veterans left on these shows. We need to not take it for granted that they will be arouond forever, whether they pass away or leave the shows under other circumstances.
