Date Posted: 13:28:00 07/07/04 Wed ![]() Name: Leila (Lay-La) Age: 2 Years Color: Black Gender: Filly/Mare Breed: Godolphin Arabian/Byerley Turk Marking’s: None Height: 15.0 (When Fully Grown) Sire: Glencoe Dam: Young Giantess Sire’s Sire: Sultan Sire’s Dam: Trampoline Dam’s Sire: Trumpeter Dam’s Dam: Giantess Conformation: This filly is the perfect example of; perfect. Leila is a dark, natural black. Leila isn’t a big horse, but tremendously strong, sound and fast. Her height is just over 15 hands. Her heart is said to be inordinately large. She is of beautiful conformation, exquisitely proportioned with large hocks, well let down, with legs of iron, with unequalled lightness of forehand - a horse of incomparable beauty. An essentially strong mare type, her quarters broad, tail carried in true Arabian style. She has a small head on a well arched and feminine crested neck; is short-backed with tremendous quarters and a high-set tail. She has great bone, action, and a fiery temperament. She is described as a dark black no other markings. Personality: Leila is a very sweet and subtle filly, always one to be very soft and gentle in her movements when around humans. She took a lot after her older sister, Peytona. Will become a great racer if trained properly, and she is not one to give up a fight, or a head to head battle on the race track, it was bred into her to become a winner, and that she will be. She may be a bit flighty at times, but is normally calm about things, unless she is already riled up, and wants to go, and then she’s going to defiantly be on her toes. So just have a soft hand with her, and she will perform to her best abilities. Leila will adapt to one person, and one person only, she will never be detached from this one person, making her your friend for life. She is not as found as some mares are of being with other horses, it neither bothers her, nor does she have to be with others. History: Bred in the likes of England, only a year after her full blood sister, Peytona, was shipped to these same lands. She is from the great Glencoe, one of the finest stallions of the Byerley Turk side. Her mother is of the descent of Godolphin Arabian, coming from the greats of Sultan, only a step back from the great Godolphin Stallion himself. A truly royally bred mare, which is destined to perform to everything she is meant to. Training: The filly has been handled from birth, being very special to everyone as she is one of the most royally bred mare’s of her time. She is currently halter trained, and has had a saddle on her back, but not yet a rider. She has also been trained to lunge, where she excels as she was worked everyday for at least thirty minutes, already giving her that toned look at a young age. Vices/Suggestions: Her only vice is that she gets a bit impatient at feeding time if she isn’t fed on time, so it’s best if you feed her first before anyone else. The only suggestion is that you have a very soft hand with this mare, or you will ruin her. More then likely should be owned by a woman.
