there are SOOO many good hardcore acts comin through yakima in a bit. there should be kids coming from all over washington to see these shows. and if theres no movement (cept me) during "forever" by as I lay dying or 36 seconds into white phospherous formation by claymore than I am gonna be alone I guess and that would suck. I hope yakima is ready for all this.
I used to think everything that had to do with hardcore escept for someof the bands was CORNY as hell, but in the past year I have totally gotton into it and I love it. And I really hope more kids get into it from this onslaught of good shows comin up. This artsy zine culture is just ALL drama. Its cool for the individuals and such and at least people are doin something besides getting drunk, doin drugs, fucking, and crime with thier time.. oh wait, we still do that... anyways, I know some people hate the hardcore scene but I hope they can come to understand that it can be really positive and unifying, more so than being wrapped up in a blanket and carried off stage to the corner of the club (I only heard this was done, I didn't witness it so maybe it didn't happen). but ya... good times ahead... times to drop our egos, our pride and just stomp heads kick faces and laugh about it later.
"hardcores in our hearts.. we can't prove it any other way than to live it every day"
"mosh, scream, high fives, step on heads, sweat, smiles, fists. this is my list."
"we love the songs cause we live the songs"
"we went to all ages shows, sunday matinees hanging out wondering if the bands would show and even play. the bands would come and we would all sing along. Would they ever know their impact would last so long? the world is full of lonely places no matter where you're from. A crowded show familiar faces make me feel at home. Many kids have come and gone, but i know what kept me here. The magic of those songs has sustained me through the years. I heard the word sincerity and i NOW know what that means. I learned it first with Black Flag, mohawks, combat boots, and torn up jeans. WE were more than just a tour date. You were more than just a song. We sweat and sang together and that helped us to carry on. WE were more. You were more. For the record."
so ya.. go check out all these bands websites and read their lyrics and listen to the songs and just ya... practice your windmills and as always.. stay awsome.
