Subject: Touble in Bayview

RemoveByron J. Goldstein Being a young resident at 2075 Rockaway Pkwy. Apt 1C in the year 1958-1961 I remember getting into quite a lot of mischief! If you remember a large brush fire in the sand lots that closed the belt, it was I. If you remember blue paint spread over the benches, walkways and the barrels in the playground, It was I. If you... remember Gus chasing a kid with a hammer, I was the kid. If you remember the carnival across in the lot on Rockaway blaring rock and roll music while riding the ferris wheel for free hundreds of times, It was I. If you remember Hurricane Donna, I got blamed for that too. It wasn't all trouble and it was a great place for a kid to begin to grow up. It has neen almost 50 years and I still remember those times and I still miss those days in the project. A special memory to Ruby who has the best tasting and dirty knishes in town. Salt shaker and all! - Byron

Those were the best times in Bayview during the 50's and 60's ("Pre-Nigger Era"). Kids had fun and got dirty back then
(which Is good for normal social development), No Facebook, no social networking or no Internet, just normal social interaction. Most kids socialized normally and developed normal lives, not virtual lives like today.
