Thanks for the comments - any support helps.
My second time was a week or so later. I planned it a bit more deliberately this time, intending to go out earlier. Got ready, again a short skirt, 2.5" sandals this time. Still had qualms, so it wasn't till 11pm that I made the front door. Again the 'stealth' departure, again I walked along quiet roads. Took a pic of Brenda on a deserted railway footbridge (to prove I'd done it!) and then plucked up courage to head home via a main road into town. Passed a few pedestrians on the same side(!) but again no-one seemed to say anything. But again someone tooted! This time it was a van going the opposite way ... and he stopped and turned round !!! Not sure whether I dared look as he passed me again, but no further toot ...
As I was about to turn into my road, I heard a whistle behind me. I judged that he was far enough behind me, so gave a toss of my long honey tresses - and got another whistle!! So it must have been me. Wonder if I did look that good (at night, and from the back - maybe) or whether I was being read.
