Miniature nymph slipped like a shadow through the undergrowth of the forest. Alone, unwanted and hungry, this strange environment seemed even more hostile than before.
Her mottled tabby coat providing perfect camouflage, she seemed almost invisible, delicate pads treading lightly, carefully, some deep instinct seeming to tell her that this place was full of hidden dangers for those who failed to watch for them.
The trees loomed ominously above her, seeming to stretch upwards forever until their branches were lost high in the clouds. The forest was silence, but it was certainly not devoid of noise for those who chose to listen. The constant plop of water as droplets slithered from the tree ferns and came to rest silently on the forest floor. The chatter of birds calling to each other in their unknown language, and the wind whispering through the trees.
Entering the land she had been directed to, forepaws walked forward as she bowed, hoping she was not really speaking to air as it appeared.
