Subject: Something to think about, Stones of Jordon in the D2X Economy....

This is a theory posted over at Diabloii.net concerning the value of SOJs in the coming expansion set.... maybe a good idea to start hoarding Sojs huh....

The Stone of Jordan's Value Going To Be *TO* Valuable Soon?
One main problem that I have already gotten e-mails about Is that in Diablo2 V1.07 and
in the Expansion Pack unique items will *not* be gamblable, Since most every player in
the game has 1 or 2 SOJs on their character that makes it practically impossible to find
them after that. What does that mean? That means that the Stone of Jordan will
slowly keep going up in value until it is considered priceless. For example, An item you
could get for 5 or 6 SOJs now I would say you could only get for 1 in about 3 or 4
months. The main problem with this, is the way economy works. Right now, if you have
a godlyish item that is worth about 1 or 2 Stones of Jordan, in a few months, once the
SOJ's value gets to its peak, you *might* be able to get 1/4th a soj out of the same
item that once was worth a few SOJs.. My suggestion to you? Get as many Stones of
Jordan as you can before the expansion is out! Even if it means giving up a whole
character full of perfect skull (Side note: Perfect Skull's Value is Already Plummeting
Like Crazy).

The impact of the expansion pack on Stones of Jordan and Skulls.
I have been watching the Diablo2 Expansion Beta and watching the trade channels on
battle.net, From what I've seen I think that the Stones of Jordan's value in the
expansion will go up, Because they will no longer be able to be gambled and also Hell
and Nightmare skills are getting a lot harder and the drop rate reduced. As for perfect
skulls, I think that their value will plummet, Mainly because gems are much easier to
find now, and with the elite items, and crafted items perfect skulls won't be as useful
as they once were. But, there is also a quest in act5 that allows you to make any item
you own (even rares, uniques and set-items) socketable. But only with a single socket.
So maybe due to that the perfect skulls may stay the same. But there are also runes
and jewels (new socketable items). Jewels are fairly weak, about the same as a flawed
gem. But the rarer runes are much much more valuable than any gem.
