The thing that bugs me is I actually LIKE soloing once in awhile when I can't find familiar friends and I don't want to worry about losing my drops...or sometimes just want to be alone. I'm on so sporadically these days* that I make an unreliable gaming partner. The majority of the time I don't have trouble finding relatively cool people to party with, but I don't like that the game tweaks that take the option out. (Technically I can still solo with a minimum of pain...except I have to avoid the PI creatures...everything else still lays down eventually...but there is no magic to speak of, and no exp.)

I know it's a whole gaming style thing...but I really wish they could have supported both styles. I think it would've been easy had they just really popped up experience for partied characters more as an incentive. Not this pentalty of no magic drops. That's just lame...IMO.

*The hours I usually play start at around 11pm PST and go to 3am on the best days - most of the players I "coop" with don't even speak my language, and they try to kill me as soon as they join the channel about 30% of the time.
