Willow Grove

This is the home of Merlin, guardian of Lothorian. A gentle stream runs through a long tunnel of weeping willows, their long limbs carressing the quiet waters as they continue over a number of small waterfalls. Deeper into the woodland tall hemlocks provide cool shade,and the ground is carpeted with soft pine needles. Sprigs of herbs appear in many places through the land, all growing well, for they are of precious use. Paths wander through the quiet wood, one, much used, leading into a small meadow with dotted with ancient oaks. The entrances here are few and hidden, providing useful guard from any who would wish the inhabitants ill will..

She pushes with all her might and small hooves begin to appear...slowly the rest of the body and head and finally more hooves until the whole little body is out. Gwen lays, exhausted by her efforts...she somehow gets onto her belly and cleans her tiny tiny undergrown foal..a little black foal with a perfect white star. Gwen can barely see from exhaustion but whickers gently to the foal as it tries to rise over and over again...until it can manage to walk around its mother then stumbles over a rock onto her belly. She chuckles and rises, legs shaking as her foal eats and together, dam and foal lay down together. Foal at her side, she smiles and looks to Merlin~"Is he alright Merlin? Hes so tiny.."

The mare enters the territory, recognition lighting up her golden-brown orbs. Tossing her head, as her silverly tendrils lightly flutter in the breeze, she prances forth, acoustics attentive. She was not sure how she was to be greeted.. though this was the first place she had stayed when entering Lothorian in her younger years.. and she couldn't resist the pull of an old home. Her nares widen to inhale the scent of the Willow Grove, her eyes roving to happily alight on the river and familiar trees.

The pitter patter of gently falling rain lulls the ebony steed into a quiet doze, thunder rumbling in the distance as the rushing stream before him leaps along it's narrow course.The willow boughs, drooping low over the gurgling froth, shed the water in a wide, smooth ark around itself and the stallion beneath. Shifting his weight to another of his heavily feathered hooves, the steed lowers his head to the water, water immediately jumping over the rocks to soak his nose as he sips from the torrent. A snort rids his nostrils of unwanted water as he steps from beneath the protection of the willow, into the quiet rain. Ears flick warily, but his stride projects ease as he steps further into the grove, and into the dark center of the hushed, quiet pines...
