Subject: What's good for the goose isn't good for the gander

My husband was paying child support in Florida, and when all was finished, the boy was eighteen,he became aware that he had overpaid his child support by $3,200.00.The department of revenue(child support enforcement) will not help him recover his money, even though they sent it to the child's mother. We are told that we have to either go to small claims court to recover the money,or hire an attorney.Isn't there anyway to recover the money without having to spend more to get it?You always have to pay a lawyer up front and then get reimbursed. If you paid it,then it should be given back the same way it got taken from you.It was ordered to be taken from his check, and no one bothered to notify him that it was all paid up,therefore he continued to pay it to keep himself out of Jail.
