I am receiving child support in the amount of $148/mo for 2 daughters, ages 12 and 14 and the order has been in effect for over 10 years. My ex makes more now than back then, but is currently receiving unemployment insurance. He's been the only one working , currently married with 2 boys. He has medical and dental insurance and could easily provide it for the girls at no additional cost but refuses to do so until there is a court order making him. He has recently sent his new wife to work after having him served with papers to increase support. I believe he's working under the table and he's working to cover it up. I want my daughters to get what they should , they have alot of needs and he does not care to help. I am aggravated at his attitude and believe I need a real investigator to see what is really going on. I think he'll try to get the support decreased.
Sandy it sounds reasonable to me for him to help, but if he doesn't want to you'll have to go about it legally. Your situation is way better than mine...my ex doesn't even stay up to date with the $148/mo.
