Finally, ascension was complete as he stood on two legs; wobbly, but standing. His form shimmered and blurred leaving a stallion standing in place of the man. Russet strands of his unruly mane served to hide the expression on the caliph's face though his banner hung listlessly against his gleaming flanks. Nickering a soft farewell, he took his leave. He had to go somewhere, anywhere. He needed a neutral place, a place that wasn't saturated with memories of either mare. He needed to get his thinking straight and determine what his heart wanted. The walls served to echo the fading sound of his hoofbeats, giving the impression that he still lingered though the stallion was long gone.
