Another "leaf on the wind"-ish reference that I noticed tonight when I saw it again. Early in the film, near the end of the epic-length tracking shot of Serenity, Mal asks Zoe if Wash will be able to smooth out the ship's problems. "Like a downy feather, sir," she says. "Nobody flies like my mister." Downy feather. Leaf. In wind, they both do pretty much the same thing. ;) Wonderfully subtle foreshadowing on Joss' part there.
