The bullet in Villains:

We know that Darth Rosenberg was in full effect and that the Dark Magic had all but taken over at that point. Buffy's life actually meant little to Dark Willow (she tries to kill Buffy, Xander, Andrew and Johnathan with the truck later) but her power to bring Buffy back is important to her. The hubris thing combined with, hey, already paying a price.

Chosen

She's disseminating the power of the 'scythe' to all the Slayers and potentials rather than leaving it concentrated in one object which can obviously only be held by one person. Releasing the power of the scythe turns her hair white but that's as bad(?) as it gets. Maybe the creator(s) of the scythe had a greater price to pay? Who knows?

Locater spells

Ever lost your car keys? The TV remote? A ballpoint? Pesky isn't it?

The "speak" spell

Dawn says the origins of the spell are to aid the dying to communicate with their families etc. I guess it may hasten the actual death but for a purpose, it certainly hastens the bringers death as Giles cuts his throat*, Andrew feels it and complains well into the 'some time later' next scene.

*clever man that Giles, he'd make a good watcher.

Amy Rat

Yes, I guess it should. OTOH I've been of the opinion that Willow should have been able to de-rat Amy far earlier for quite some time UNLESS there was something preventing her from doing so. I came to the conclusion that since every time we saw Amy cast a spell prior to being 'ratified' she called on Hecate eventually Hecate got annoyed and punished her for her impudence. Since Hecate was opposing any de-ratting spells Amy remained stuck on a cheese and museli diet for quite some time. How's that for a 'rationale'?
