the book "The Italian Military Mind" consists of 4 blank sheets bound in white kids leather so perhaps this is not such great praise as might otherwise be assumed.
He was fighting the Austrians, not the Italians but a good joke nevertheless. I will be reporting you to the Italian American Anti-Defamation League (or whatever their official title is) so be expecting a visit from Tony S. and his goons. Come to think of it, that statement probably also earned me a visit.

The Blitzkrieg is a flawed tactic, the Germans almost suffered a disasterous turn-around on the eve of their high water mark of the Dunkirk evacuation
Not sure a misapplication of the concept proves it was flawed. Certainly worked in Poland in 1939 (okay – insert Polish joke here) and the Soviets in 1941. I think the Germans had an appreciation for the need for infantry support, their main problem in this regard was they just didn’t have enough mechanized infantry to keep up with the Panzer divisions. Too many horses, not enough horsepower. I was always under the impression that Hitler’s main error at Dunkirk was calling off the tanks so fat Hermann could get his share of fame by using the Lutwaffe (sp?) to reduce the beach head. Perhaps I, and numerous other sources were wrong in this assessment.

all the Allied armour was inferior to the German armour throughout the entire war Not sure I agree with respect to the Soviet T34. No question the Panther was far, far superior to the Sherman. Also, the in the 1940 campaign, I have read that the French armor (note the correct spelling – don’t you speak English?) was at least as good as the German, maybe even superior. In no position to actually argue this point but that has never stopped me in the past.
