Subject: Joss' two new releases

Hi guys, it's been a long time.

I'm surprised that there's nothing about either Cabin in the Woods or Avengers Assemble up on this board. Both films seem set to be great successes and I thought there'd be some comment at least. Rumours suggest, for all that rumours are worth anything, that the Avengers movie is on course to be the most profitable movie of all time!

I say rumours, this was said by Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/The Hulk) on BBC1 late on Friday night and online reports are full of praise for Joss for his direction, screenplay and overall influence.

"Marvel's recruitment of Joss Whedon shows that TV is where the talent is"

Avengers Assemble – review

"Joss Whedon proves himself a master plate-spinner at drawing together the meaty backstories of a half-dozen superheroes"
http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2012/apr/20/avengers-assemble-review?newsfeed=true

"It's a gargantuan task to fit so many huge Marvel characters into one summer blockbuster, but we can't think of anyone better for the job than Joss Whedon. His fanboy love for his material is renowned and his ability to drop knowing genre nods into his stories is unparalleled. This isn't just idle praise either; he proves both of those things repeatedly in this action-packed, laughter-powered, big, bold and brilliant film."

Amen and pass the popcorn.
