Agreed. However, I don't believe we ever saw Willow hack for the sake of hacking. Every time we actually saw her, she was acting for Buffy.

It wasn't hacking that got Willow into trouble there. It was just seduction by IM.

I'm not a subscriber to the "aspects of Buffy" theory of supporting characters

I find it works sometimes and not others, like most of the metaphors on the show.
