There may have been a lead in regarding comparisons to General Buffy in the preceding posts but IIRC the conversation drifted to Gulf War 2. I seem to recall that the war had recently come to some sort of an end-point(!) in the official sense. I remember writing a portion of it on media coverage in the UK and remarking that RAF squadrons were already being withdrawn but the majority of the ground forces were going to remain in place.
