I sure hope it isn't the end. I don't have the affection for this show that I did for the Whedon shows, but it seems to have very good writing. And there is a good change of pace to the show. The IAD guy reminds me of the cop in Les Miserables, driven and relentless.
In any case, one episode made it seem as though he had lost all credibility, as Vic managed to sting him good. That was the episode that ended with his throwing furniture around in frustration. But the next episode, he came back with a vengeance! The tension here is whether Vic can salvage the situation. (He can be creative and resourceful!)
It does seem strange to be rooting for bad cops--but even the good ones in real life can be hard to root for at times!
