Subject: happy new year! and a belated eid mubarak...

...to the respective but overlapping groups who celebrate each of them! May it be a year of good getting better, of bad getting less; of unnecessary sacrifices averted & fewer sacrifices necessary. That last part is an Eid al-Adha (Islam's Festival of the Sacrifice) reference, but the more I think about it, the more widely it applies.
