Hi, manwitch! Always great to see you posting. When are we going to get the rest of the 7 part analysis?

Trivia point: um, Empty House? Which ep is this? Older and Far Away maybe?

I strongly agree that seasons 6 and 7 are part of the philosophical whole of BTVS. However, I have to agree with Kevin: they just weren't as well done. I really wanted to love them, and they just keep kicking me out of my disbelief suspension with (and you mention a number of these): the TriDork, the neverendingmindnumbingdarknesswithoutend, the lack of development for our main characters (unless you count Spike, and even then not so much as in season 5), and less than perfect writing and directing.

I do love individual episodes from both seasons, though (sorry Kevin) Hells Bells just aint one of them. Still, every time I think they should have stopped at Buffy's gravestone at the end of season 5 (perfect blend of pathos and humor), I think what? No Once More With Feeling? No After Life, or Life Serial, or Conversations With Dead People? And most of all, no attempt to integrate the hero's otherworld experience and deal with her alienation from the world to which she has returned?

And I have to be glad that we had them, imperfect though they were (the seasons). And yeah, still better than 99.99% of TV out there.
