Her groan was silent as she slipped sidways off the mare, landing softly in the dust of the desert floor. Her face hidden behind the mare's neck she rimised at his stammering; obviously he hated confrontation as much as she did. Why did this have to be so difficult? Could he not forget and alow things to slip back into the normal flow of the world? Why does he have to be so damn considerate? Clenching her teeth she emerged from behind her prancing shield and smiled softly at him, hoping to calm him as much as herself. What ever else his closeness presented, his nerves certainly carried over to her relentlessly.
'No no, i'll do it. Luke I...' her voice trailed off, the words she had formed so easily in her head had suddenly turned to a sticky mush resembling melted icecream and left her unprepared.
'Cant...' she paused, gathering her wits, 'Can't things just go back to the way the were before? Can't we just forget?'
Her voice was low, but to her relief was steady and strong, even if it was packed with choking emotion. Her gaze lifted from his knees and captured his, willing him not to look away. So desperite for closure was she that Jakki was sure that she would explode if he said anything but yes. Posative that this showed painfully clear through her eyes, she clenched her jaw on any protective retorts her inner being would have spouted out.
