I can understand that you think it's a gamble, I mean Miramax is afraid on the outcome of this film as well. But I feel that although this (KILL BILL) is Tarantino's homage to kung fu/grindhouse flicks as was the case with JACKIE BROWN and its nod to blaxploitation films, in my mind if it does not succeed at the box office it will regain in cult movie status. RESEVOIR DOGS and JACKIE BROWN weren't big hits either but a lot of the moviegoers enjoyed them enough to heighten Tarntino's reputation as a filmmaker, he knows what he's doing and it's because of his confidence in what he wants in films that he attracts good groups of actors and actresses, and has resurrected an actor's failing career in all of his films (Harvey Keitel, John Travolta, Robert Forster, Pam Grier and hopefully David Carradine). KILL BILL is a gamble to most and although it will attract teeny boppers, most of them will not understand Tarantino's concepts and just focus on the action when there is much more to the film as far as character development and dialogue...believe me I know, I have read the KILL BILL script which is available on my website...Ta ta.
