Aya- he does not know what he is. all that he has been told is that he is an exceptionally powerful being, and because he was unsure of how to use the power, he was taken advantage of and became a slave to his empire. Vree- i have been to see him, i told him what he is. he was ready to die when i saw him. ~+~*Fire Song rubbed his head, strands of pale white hair sliding off his shoulder.*~+~ Fire Song- he was the son of the Lt. in the queens army. when he was very young, his father was killed in battle. he stayed with his mother for a few years, then a few demons informed the Queen of what a Spirit Star was, and then realized that there was one within grasp. she had the mother executed publically for, as the public heard, 'plotting to overthrow the monarch' and then supposedly killed Eldan as well. she did not kill him for two reasons. one being that she had lost a son of her own who would have been about Eldan's age, but the public was never informed of the death. she cast an illusion on him and had him make an ocasional public show, or so i am told. the other, because the barriers of the city are powered by magic, which they draw from him. however, our power is not linked to some outer body- it is sealed within, so they could not just tap a line and get their way. that would have killed him faster than what they did do, though. Vree- they beat him, torture him, starve him, anything they can do to get him to a near-death state without actually killing him. Kyle has seen him in visions. they keep him in shackles, except for when he is needed in public. otherwise, he is left in a bloody mess in the dungeon. when a Spirit Star is near death, they expend power naturally to keep themselves alive. the excess that leaks out is used to power their barriers.
