Tips for the Bitcoin Wallet Challenge

improve your odds of winning

You know about the Bitcoin Wallet Challenge. Everyone knows about it. It seems like a lot of people make the attempt to win, but most of them make rookie mistakes.

If you avoid these mistakes, you have much better chances of winning. It is not the ability to monitor someone's computer camera that matters, especially when they do not actually have one. Instead, let us tell you how to improve your chances.

Improve your odds:

  • Pick two or three wallets at random. Most people pick the first or the last, so the comptetion is greater.
  • Start early. Remember that the first entrant with the correct total for a particular wallet wins.
  • Avoid the rush. Get your entries in before the last day.
  • It is rare to have successful entries before the last week of competition. If you do that, you have an advantage.
  • Send your entry to a judge on the list for the current round. Judges may be added during a round, but they will not be dropped during a round unless arrangements are made to forward the entries.
  • Remember that the deadline is always at 1300 (1.00 p.m.) Pacific time. Not Eastern. Not Bombay. Not Moscow. Always, it is Pacific.
  • You may see this in the challenge, but it is good advice. If you have more than one entry, send them to different judges.

You should also avoid rookie mistakes:

  • Sending in two entries for the same wallet disqualifies both of them.
  • Sending in entries for more than three wallets disqualifies all of them.
  • If you forget to include the factions of a bitcoin in your reported total, your entry is wrong.
  • If you report the total in dollars, or rupees, or anything other than bitcoins, your entry is wrong.
  • If you have an older bitcoin challenge, some of the wallets may have carried over. However, sending your entry to a judge from that old challenge may result in it being ignored.
  • Do not try using different e-mail addresses to sneak in multiple entries. Do you really think they will not be found out? Just ask recent disqualified goofs listed below!
Seems like, every time, some bright guys think they will get multiple entries by using multiple e-mail addresses.
