Rant on meeting...people...flat tires...Please Read...or don't

Where to begin?

First off I don't want to sound school marmish but the antics of some of the guild members at last nights meeting were DEPLORABLE. I am not saying I was a model officer. I did get kind of steamed I did not get to speak...but...yapping about things unrelated...talking over people who have the floor when it is not open discussion and the general arguementive attitude of people on subjects that really do not concern them beyond a simple need to know basis is UNACCEPTABLE at a guild meeting. We ALL play this game to have fun...but if you are going to make it fun and worthwhile for all you need to grow up and be an adult at some point...I don't care how old you are.

I won't get into the 'spell spam' issue because you can turn off that annoying message by hitting alt+o and fiddling around under the filter tab where it says PC spells...but even tho it is a dead horse DUELING at a guild meeting is ALSO unacceptable...but you're forgiven Bisdann... ;)

As I did not get to say last night but will now on the board better deal with the constant bitching and moaning of people continually holding up the topics that need to be discussed when in a meeting...even tho not everyone reads this board. (which also needs to change)...I think Army is great...full of potential and FUN. I have been lucky to be in some great guilds and some poor ones during my time in EQ. I have not done the most phat uberest of hunts...and honestly I don't care to...it would be nice but it is not my dying sleepless night need!

I would like to see Army start to raid a bit...Factioning in Kael, Plate Cycle, Planar expeditions, Fear or Air someday and the epic hunts...but if you are expecting us to become some uber high level raiding guild overnight whose guild chat conversations consist of little more than 'fuck you, fuck me, phat lewt, I hate IoA'...then GO ELSEWHERE.

I have my Shadow Knight currently in House of Ancients simply because I wanted to see what a true High Level Raiding Guild is like, they require 55+ for entry and I can see why because under lvl 55 there is little you can do with them. I find for the most part they are polite if not a little bit distant with one another...which takes away the personal and 'fun' feel for me...I tend to be a bit quiet in gc and go and hunt when I can...their gl Adiwen is very, very nice and they have some really stellar and intelligent members.

Jana mentioned last night 'do you want to do stuff or do you want to be a good chatting guild' (or something to that effect, don't quote me exactly)...my reasoning is we can be BOTH. Just because we may choose in the future to be a bit more strict in level admittance and calibur of person does NOT mean I am going to suddenly be the Ice Queen of Guild Chat and not enjoy a good conversation among guildies or goofing off in gc because I am too good and too busy raiding polygons and phat lewts because my life is so pathetic I need to compensate...I'll say it again...if you are looking for immediate gratification in this department GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. I hear Path of Valor is becoming real good at being jerks...even Illusion of Apathy hates em...

Army people do tend to stick together I do not believe we have a problem with assisting each other on some levels...but I am getting sick of trying to form groups with any character I have (and i do have a wide spread lvl range of classes) and getting absolutely no response...to the point that maybe in the future if I am asked to help I simply will not respond like I have seen some people do. Not saying people should drop everything at once and come running...but if you aren't too pressed in what you are doing maybe think about your guild first.

One of the things I liked the most about Legion of Nox was the fact that even tho they raided (PoA, Fear, Hate, Kael, ToV, Trials, CT) they still let ANYONE who wished to apply to do so and go thru their recruiting process...REGARDLESS OF LEVEL. Granted they are an rp guild...with some really great writers and actors...but they still hunted and had fun.

And this brings me to my next topic...the RP Forum...said this before too. There is no need or requirement for anyone to go there and post, I know such a concept as role play is as bizarre and foreign as halushki...but I have noticed some of you delving into the rp side of eq, be it small comments or even /em in game. What is an MMORPG for really...oh wait I forgot uberness :)...but seriously...if you are feeling the itch, please check out the site and maybe toss a little post in...if anything just your characters background. No one is here to judge your rp skillz or the like or force you to do it...so far it has been Jinx and myself trying to interact and that's it. You can find a history of the Army there as it is being fleshed out and it is a good read and might help you come up with your own ideas...you can also find the small interactions Jinx and I have been doing with two of our characters...the other posts are simple introductions of my characters.

Sometimes it is good to blow off steam in writing down a story, especially if the servers are down and you can't go kill Rivervale guards for shits and giggles and relaxation...

In conclusion...I pretty much needed to rant...but if you want to respond to this please do so...flame or thoughtful it really doesn't matter to me. I am curious as to what you think.
