Uh…Brain? Don’t we need to know who already took over the world—Joss Whedon, the biggest bad there is and with lots of bucks for a budget…so maybe he doesn’t kill us? We can always make a plan then.

Brain? Brain? Did you spill your drink in the sand? This is your plan?

Ole Dracula would advise Angelus to stay put I would gather:

I "sink" za villagers ah gettingk restless. Ve must EAT zemmm.

Sure thing, Drac. Our new year resolution diet, they must DIe and we must EaT! Gotcha. The torch! I got product in my hair, hold it a little higher, okay?

Zahright.

Whee! Glad you are here.

I haven’t been able to thank you for your stories and the wonderful MNA still going. I was a bit blue that it was all going to end. Yes, despite SMG planning on another baby, a boy, I hear, with Freddie, but maybe a comedy show. Alyson Hannigan has the best job in Hollywood. A successful show, that is a half hour and has an ensemble and thus has an easy schedule to have a “personal life” and raise a family. I hear it is coming to an end. I heard Merlin was ending, but ASH is ever popular at home and abroad; and Brendon is doing guest shots. I don’t know if he has a show for stable work. Where is James Marsters, since his (cradle robbing) marriage? His band is going at times, I hear. I thought everyone would want him with all the comic book popularity. He was awesome on “Smallville.”

I hadn’t read through this forum in a bit and I am staggered to read about Veggie’s husband; I was aware she (you) had great financial worries with the Vegas economy dropping into the tank and worry that all she needs, including help that allows her a respite to have a “different” life—caretakers are deeply neglected and usually are women taking the brunt, mentally, emotionally, financially, and socially. But it really is hard when you “see a face” of one you have enjoyed in life, trying to navigate even finding resources and help. It has to be difficult for her husband, who had to experience deep grief for his own plans/life with Veggie and I am sure he has understood why he is so lovable to Veggie and has been a resource for her, too, that he still shares with her. I am so glad that Salty is in touch and offers such comfort to them. I do hope joy finds you all with a big bear hug!

Delighted that you have a position in teaching, Caroline, which is 99 percent of it, even if the fit isn’t perfect and you have greater ambitions and needs to meet. So many people now are driven to “do anything,” no matter what their skill set, education, and dreams may have been in these days. Salty was so right! Her “mantra” in how to prepare and believe is “God’s own truth.” And I do thank her for so beautifully sharing it!

Guns? That is all there is to rant over/live for? ( I am weapon… and still stealthy).
I think that your “life” burning down and finding the grit to “start over” is worth a comment or two, still! I mean, just when you got it all in order?

I am sorry to hear of your health issues, Salty. I’ll rant on that one with you. “OUT you rotten pains and misery. Right the Heck now! No time or energy for you!! And healthcare? Where is the health and where is the care, other than the Divine? I pay my taxes! What do you mean deductible and co pay and marriage penalty? Don’t get me started!” Take it away, Salty! Some congressman deserves your boot, or do you think utter indifference is the best weapon because these guys have nothing to do with most of us? (They deserve each other). You tell me, and I’ll join that parade! Hee hee.

I have always been the driving force in my own life and haven’t had to find fulfillment in someone else’s “design,” since I am not a “joiner.” Maybe I have to learn how to join something, since the US Military was such a…not fit? But! I got to be here; and escape the dictator/fascists and that is all! I don’t forget it, even if my American birth was so bloody.

Right now, getting done “museum season;” I have an idea that I’ll turn over this place to sybil and her boy; and “go home” to NYC. Yes, when I had “nothing,” I got this home for my wife. Who died. Well! I made some use of it for others, anyway, I hope!

My place in NYC survived Sandy and if climate change takes it, I suppose I would have the rough and sublime shouldering past each other AS life. I miss my daughter, who mostly is in Europe, her soul’s work and married with her “soul mate,” but she hasta travel, too; and stays in the apt in NYC. They are working on making me a grandpa! WHEEEEeeee! I think being a grand is just grand. Can hardly wait!

How was the first one, Salty? I won’t have many so I have to get this right! Did you feel all different? I feel like I finally “made it” in this life for what I was supposed to do, somehow. I think. Being a grand grand. And I don’t know if I have to go back to Europe to do it well? Or just wait for their time to “come around and visit” as they can? I mean they are so freaking busy, as young people are. Where’s the “Dr. Spock” for being a grand grand? Dr. Spock was this book I heard was a handbook for being a new mom. I don’t’ know if it is still an Americanism I just learned about.

A friend does his own pouring up in MA, so a forge is around. Habits sometimes need a revisit to reasons. Don’t know if I made meaning become ritual become meaning in itself? Still do my martial arts. Still do my art. Still do what I can, what people ask, for those ‘fleeing in the night,’ wherever I find them in life. I am pretty peaceful within myself, even if “outrage” isn’t a stranger only to me; I just feel so damn sorry for the misery that would ask of us to appreciate the wealth of the world isn’t only “opportunity to exploit.” Take a breath! In and out! The sound alone of HU TZU (the wonderful gander, who is at home on water, in the air, or on land). Each of us is a world and creates worlds. I do hope our worlds connect always in peace, beauty, and joy to celebrate!

Be well!

The Jim Caviezel pic didn't display and due to the nature of the img the normal right click trick doesn't work so here is another try. Loved the last ep of POI btw.

Agreed! Awesome, real peril, back story, and "seeing is believing" being the "fooled ya" moment, but also the great humor with Fusco in "meanwhile back at the ranch" BWHAHA and even heroism with a surprise for him. Wonderful. Of course, the head of the five families appearing seemed to be the big threat and turned into something quite else. I think Carter, a working mom keeping her balance and a clear eye on "crossing lines," and has been underrated so far. She really has something to lose: her child.

Looove THIS SHOW! I wish they had kept this kind of rhythm and writing with Angel's first couple of seasons, even with the case of the week format. Every character introduced is offering so much importance in the life of the main protagonists, and yet having enough breath to make them more than plot points, but make you think they each could have a worthy story on their own and turn the entire story on a dime to tragedy or inspired salvation. I really like seeing why the notion of ammends and never quite getting redemption is reality(except the "sympathy for the devil" kinds fandom and writers are entitled to), and maybe that is why mercy extended to another is so important, one for another.

I also think the notion of privacy and the nature of fear that has taken all privacy away, is an important question: the very premise of "our genius in residence" Harold. I am glad he takes good care of the dog and they show it; pets do take care of us, especially to appreciate the nature of trust, another important dynamic in this show. I coulda missed out, but for you, Lewis! Thanks! Yes, I will be buying it and start all over viewing it.

Anybody like the new Sherlock and Lucy-as-Watson show? Again, I don't see where this one can go, as we already are into the big lost love Sherlock faced with Moriarty introduced as the big bad threading through the case of the week. I guess this is patterned after "all of them" nowadays, e.g. Mentalist, Bones, and the L&O franchise. I'll watch it for a "House" type of fix, but I doubt it will make 5 years, other than to watch Sherlock fail in relationships and his apartment become a "landfill."

How do you call that one?

Anyone like the fairytales? Grimm--I think the wolf has the only power to me; and Once Upon a Time--let's kill Prince Charming and all will be well on that show; even Henry is less annoying for his deep faith in "things working out" and the guide within fairy tales, which is actually an important reality in why they help us grow up--why I liked Joss's, in fact. Kids need the space to view life as awful, parents as "strangers," or even do awful things or feel they were totally picked on and yet find these helpers to make their way through the pressures of growing up.

Maybe it's my age, but I don't care about "Bones," despite David actually being the most popular guy on TV and Nathan Fillion being second. Nathan's show, Castle, has some fun thrown at it, in complicating the only obvious point of the cop and Castle "happily ever after" wedding/romance from my view.

I do hope you all come back and talk about whatever is going on with you, or your interests.

Have any of you watched HBO "Girls?" It really isn't Sex and the City; they all are really trying to find themselves and "characteristics" blur more. It's not totally my thing, as I think "Shameless" is more fun for me, in the "soap" category. Yeah, I Netflix "Homeless"

I am a fan of "American Horror" as Tim Minear is behind it and I happen to love, love madly Jessica Lange. I can't think of anything she did horribly. "Crimes of the Heart" is a film she is never given credit in her bio, as it was a Sissy Spacek film, but she was riveting in that one, too.
My daughter is blond and brown eyed so I guess that catches my eye.

Great grand! Indeed! I think that must feel like watching the universe renew itself with convincing proof of beauty and hope. I hope you get your wish, Salty!

Be well!

There is absolutely nothing more wonderful than being a grandparent. Our oldest will be 29 in March and he still enchants me as much as he did the first day of his life! I'm an utter fool over our youngest (she's 5) just because she is our youngest and probably last grandchild. I am, however, looking forward to a great grandchild. I keep telling my four grown grandchildren to get busy, but they just smile and continue to not propagate the race. I continue to pray and encourage. Congratulations, dear chuck it. Life is wonderful. Hugs
