I have only been a part of the RBL family for a few short months and I am going to be extremely honest right now. I was very hesitant to go to Las Vegas, for several reasons. One, because I am a very shy person; two, because really, sometimes relationships are better off staying in cyberland, than in real life; and three, because I felt that maybe this group in Vegas had already formed relationships that I would not be able to be a part of.
I'll start off by saying Thank GOD that all three of my reasons, were ground into the dirt within the first 5 minutes of meeting every one of these women. I wasn't allowed to be shy (we'll not too shy), because these women embraced me, made me feel like I was a long time friend, and didn't say or do anything to make me feel anything other than cared about. I felt as if they were all my friends. As for my feelings about things being better in cyberland than in real life...well that too was blown out of the water. These women are BETTER in real life. Although we all get to know each other in cyberland...there is SO much we miss out on when doing posts. Tone, inflection, facial expressions, body language, feelings, etc. that just don't come through in a message on the board...sitting down and talking with these ladies, gives you so much more insight. They are truly a most caring and loving group of women.. And finally, as for feeling like I couldn't really be a part of the group...once again, that theory was shot to hell...not only was I allowed in, but I was embraced, welcomed, and made to feel like a very special part of the group.
I could go on and on about this group, and as I sit here typing, I have tears in my eyes, that I have another whole year to wait for our next big adventure together. Any of you who are hesitant about taking this trip, DON'T. You will be welcomed with open arms, no judgments, no preconceived notions, and nothing but fun, laughs, and most of all....LOVE! Yes...truly...these women all love each other! Now, I have some thank you's:
Beaty - There really are no words to describe my feelings about you and our time together, so I won't even try, I'm sure you know! *BG* Thank you for allowing me to share your room, your time, and most of all...just YOU! I really can't tell you how much it meant to me to finally meet you in person...I am still awed by you...you know I love you girl, you are one VERY special person!!!
Pat K - It was great meeting you, and getting to know you. I had a great time walking around Vegas with you at the crack of dawn *BG*. And thank you too for allowing me to share your room. We had some great chats, didn't we? It really was a pleasure meeting you and I feel so very lucky to have spent time with you. Love ya!!!
Ann - Girrrrrrrl, what can I say...you are too much. Thank you for sharing your funny stories, your glorious sense of humor, and your time. I had a wonderful lunch and afternoon with you and the girls. I also enjoyed our time spent together in RBL Central. You are one amazing person and I feel so lucky to now call you friend.
Angel - You were so wonderfully sweet to me (don't forget, I'll swap my negative for yours. Although Ann's contest idea had merit. *BG*). Thank you for your wonderful sense of humor, and for just being you. Like all the other Rebels, you welcomed me with opens arms, and made me feel so much a part of the group. Thank you SO much for helping me feel like I fit right in, you're the BEST!!!
Aislinn - Well, there is just SO much to thank you for. Thank you for your wonderful sense of humor. Thank you for your kindness to me. Thank you for my tote bag (I will cherish it forever). Thank you for our Beeeeeeeaaauuutiful RBL Central banner (Ooooo la la)! And finally thank you for making me feel so at home with the group, and helping me fit right in. You are such a beautiful person.
Melissa - LOL...well, what can I say about you?!?!?! You truly are a woman to be admired...vivacious, friendly, humorous, and a "call'em as I see'em kinda gal"...you are truly a treasure. For us shy girls, you have a personality to be envied. Thank you for making me laugh my ass off...you are just too funny...thank you for just being you, and thank you for your friendship. Oh, and thank you for the "Rabbit" story, I about spit out my coke!!! Too freakin' funny!!! *BG*
Becky - It was great to meet you, and I enjoyed our dinner together. I'm SO glad you were there with us. Your fun sense of humor, and personality shown through. And I promise to never fly Delta *VBG* :::::wink::::: ROFLMAO
Jean - Girl...you are a hoot. Thank you for sharing your kindness and humor with me. Although I never did get my massage, I've got an IOU for next year, right?!?! Thanks girl...you are a great new friend.
Barb T - Heeheeheeheeheeheehee...I know you're lurking out there!!! *BG* Thank you for spending our final night in Vegas with me at the Blackjack tables. That was such a blast. I'll never forget it. And girl....you are one HOT Blackjack player...next year, I'm bringing some cards with me, and you'll help me practice, okay?!?!?! Love ya! Oh, and I told Jian and Audrey we'd be back next year to clean them out of the purple and black :::wink:::!!! *BG*
Skye - I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!!!! Heeeheeeeheeeeeheeee *BG* I'm so VERY glad you made it to the sleepover. It just wouldn't have been the same without you. Thank you for your kindness to me, even when you wanted to smack me!!! LOL (((HUGS)))
Nancy & Leiha - Well...I'm kinda sad I didn't get to spend more time with the both of you :::::pouting::::: I wanted my picture taken in the fountain too. *BG*. There are not enough hours in the day, are there? But the times we did share were priceless. You are both such warm and humorous individuals...and next year...I'll be the lookout so you guys can go jump in the fountain too...I know you wanted to :::wink::::
Roberta, Jaycee, Joey, Rosie, Krissy, Maggie, Bee & Summer - Again, I'm really bummed that I didn't get to spend more time with you all. Five days just isn't enough. But again, the times we did spend together were priceless and will forever be warm cherished memories for me. Thank you to all of you, once again, for making me feel a part of the group.
Judy, Lory & Susan - Heeeeeyyyy, my Grand Canyon buddies!!! Well, what can I say...you all made that 16 hour trip well worth it. What an exhausting trip, but because you all were there, it made the time fly. I never enjoyed being confined on a tour bus more *BG*. I had a great time getting to know you all, and sharing that special time, seeing one of this country's national treasures, with you. And Susan, thank you for making my airport shuttle arrangements and staying with me at the airport. That was so very kind of you. You all are the best!
And finally:
Vic & Linda - Well, I really have no words to tell the both of you what you mean to me, to all of us. I'm crying, as I write this, because without the both of you, I never would have had this most wonderful experience. You are two of the warmest, most friendly and caring people I have ever met. You made this one of the most memorable vacations I have ever had. I'm sure I can speak for everyone when I say THANK YOU for all your hard work at bringing us all together. You both are the key to the success of this trip, and the glue that holds us all together. I love you both and thank you both, for everything!
I know there were others who worked hard to make this happen, and one other, behind the scenes person, ROSIE, who gave so much of her personal time to help make it happen. Thank you ROSIE!!!
Okay...I could go on, and on, and on, and on....oh wait a minute....looks like I did! *BG* For any of you who are even slightly hesitant about attending this event, I really can't encourage you enough to make it next year. Believe me when I say, you would NEVER regret it and you will never meet a more open, honest, and caring group of women anywhere else. I know that all of you who did not make it this year were sorely missed, and each and everyone one of us wants you there next year!!!
From the bottom of my heart...I LOVE YOU ALL and THANK YOU ALL!!!
