Both boys liked to imitate Daddy, they'd put on his hat & both gloves & say "I'm going to work now."
So I thought nothing of it when my youngest son pulled up a seat beside me, and put on one glove. What became remarkable about it was, he didn't say a word, and just sat there staring straight ahead.
I said "Hello?" no answer.
"What's wrong?" no answer.
All the while, he just stared straight ahead, no eye movement, no blinking.
10 min went by, 15 min..... by this time I'm very concerned. "What are you doing? Are you okay?"
Trying to break the spell, I picked him up 20 min..... I checked to make sure he was in fact breathing.
I started crying, by this time I was frantic. "Please, speak to me!!"
some movement..... 25 min. "I need you to talk to me, say something, what are you doing!!!"
Finally, he moved, seemed to be snapping out of it,
"Mom??"
"Yes?" I am shaking with tears of relief now.
"Your supposed to take off the glove, then I can talk to you."
note to self: make sure to watch what your kids watch. This program was "Today's Special" on it there was a mannequin that comes "alive" when you put on his hat, & say the magic word.
Incidentally, He used a glove because he couldn't find a hat, He tells me 20 yrs later
