It's melted down 55 cents in a month (it was $1.779 over Memorial Day weekend).

That further confirms that the jack-up in price in April and May was a conspiracy by the oil companies to maximize their profits. They have made us comfortable with $1.25 per gallon, so don't expect it ever again to go to $1.00.
