Sitting here last night had an interesting experience.

Two big dogs resting on the rug, several cats lounging in various places in the house, & two new kitten rescues wandering about. It's nothing to hear the rustlings of the cats exploration, or the knocking of the dogs when they scratch. Unless it crashes and is obviously made of glass, I usually don't investigate.

So here I am, sitting in the dark reading something on the internet, and I hear a rustling in the closet. Both dogs get up to harrass, so I turn on the light to monitor & make sure they don't hurt the kitten. I go over to coax the kitten out of the closet. Boxes piled on boxes, I can't get him out so I leave the light on waiting for him to decide it's safe.

Half hour later, I hear the rustling again. Look over just in time to see it jump on the hangars & fall down. Only it's not a cat. Have no Idea what the cats musta brought in this time, so I unload the closet. Box by box until I hear rustling in one box. Carefully, I pull out it's contents til I find the young RAT!!!!

He's terrified ready to bolt, so I cover the box and carry it outside. Thankfully, the cats didn't give chase this time or we might have had to start it all over again!!
