It is with much sadness that we report the on May 4, 2001 at 4:00 a.m. Derek Galligan, at the age of 28, lost his battle with cancer while surrounded by his family and friends. All who knew Derek knew him to be a fun-loving, strong competitor who gave his all to every endeavor, whether playing basketball, drag racing, his studies... he gave it his all. He will be sadly missed. To
his wife, Laura, his parents, Tommy and Yvonne, brothers, Tommy, Jr. and Kyle, please know we are thinking of you and will always hold Derek close in our hearts and dear in our memories.
For those wishing to pay their respects, services will be held at the Elliott M. Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence, RI 02911; Calling hours will be Sunday, May 6, 2001; please call for calling hours (401-231-9307).
