Hi Dawn,

If they will not allow toys, could they have a "buddy" for him to play with to practice socializing? Most recess activities for kids his age are geared towards active participation and sports. If they cannot find a buddy close to his age that will do this, could he buddy with a young child who also needs socializing? Your son could play with a younger child, help that child, and be allowed to play with things he likes then. Just a thought.
