Date Posted: 05:26:51 10/08/07 Mon Former MotoGP star Norifumi "Norick" Abe has been killed, riding near his home in Kawasaki, Japan. Abe, 32, was killed when he collided with a truck making an illegal U-turn. Abe debuted as a wild card in the 1994 Japanese Grand Prix. He went on to record 3 wins, 17 podium finishes in a 144 race career spanning 10 years. Abe had been competing in Japan as part of the All-Japan Superbike Championship.
