Date Posted: 05:28:03 06/30/08 Mon Three hundred Scots bikers staged a protest ride against rising fuel taxes. The bikers rode from Kinross into Edinburgh. Led by a police escort, they crossed the Forth Road Bridge before congregating in the city centre. Web forum Fife Bikers, the organisers of the ride, called it a "non-political" protest against rising fuel taxes. Spokesman Stephen Forsyth added "We are just ordinary people who are fed up with the increasing price of fuel. We have had a lot of support and hopefully got our message across." Lothian and Borders Police said the event had passed without incident. A similar event was held on the M60 and M62 motorways in June.
