Subject: Crowds flock to Auckland for “Boobs on Bikes” parade

 Thousands of people attended Auckland city centre to watch the annual “Boobs on Bikes” parade, after an attempted injunction by the council was thrown out by the courts. Around one hundred topless porn stars and drag queens cruised on motorbikes, while the male-dominated crowd jostled to get photographs.

The council said the parade broke a new bylaw allowing it to ban offensive parades.

But Judge Mathers of Auckland District Court said it was debatable whether the bylaw was legal and whether the parade met the legal threshold of offensiveness.

Parade organiser Steve Crow, organiser of the ‘R18 Erotica Expo’ said the decision was a victory for common sense. He also said he would be challenging the council's bylaws.
