We , as you, have problems with the 'new' Australians, those who want the benifits of the country but want to continue with their own cultures and laws. The culture is o.k. but they must obey the law of the land. Sad thing is that if you go to live in Japan or china for example you will have to learn the language if you wish to survive. Here and in u.k. they want to continue with their own and not learn the new. But maybe this story will sum it up. Back in 1999 I went to Spain to visit my sister who was working there. Never went there when I lived in u.k. She took us to a new fish restaurant in Benidorm. Had a great meal then went to pay. The prices were all up in pounds not Pesatas and when I offered Pesatas or Oz dollars the cashier was confused. She told me that most of her customers were either English tourists or ex pats living there and all had English money. A sad story but true. happy daze john in oz
