I wrote a message three months ago but could not get any help so i am trying again but with a bit more information. My grandad was in the Merchant navy during the second world war on anti submarine and escort duties on a wooden boat ( this might be helpful ), his name is Henry James Brann Mulcahy or as he liked to be called Shammy. He was a fisherman before joining the navy and was from Folkestone with a lovely wife and three sons. If anyone knew him or served with him i would be very grateful for any information no matter how big or small it might be. Can i take this moment to take my hat off to all the men and women who served during the war as i have been researching and you lot had it rough. People do not give you enough respect or gratitude for what you did so on behalf of me my wife and my 4 childen thank you.
