Subject: BC Ferries Strike

If you haven't turned on the 6 0'clock news or picked up the paper recently, you might be in the dark on what's going on with the strike currently with BC Ferries.

It's the same old story of the company trying to screw the workers out of a living. Why pay someone $20/hr when you can get the same thing for $8/hr? Right? Wrong!.

The dockhands and terminal attendents do alot that really doesn't get noticed by the passengers or in this case, Mr.David Hahn, the CEO of the recently privatized Ferry service.

Companies fucking over their employees seems to be the rage these days. They blame " the hard economic times " for all the lay offs and downsizing. What a bunch of bullshit. You know what the real problem is? These people that come from their ultra-preppy business school with a piece of paper with a gold seal that is supposed to make them credible for running a successful business.

Just look at Darren Entwhistle, ( or Fuckwhistle as I like to call him ) the head cheesedick that runs Telus. When he was oppointed the position he holds now, Telus made this HUGE press release stating how this will be good for all the customers, employees, etc etc. But there was one BIG group of people that they left off that list, and they are the most important ones too. The stockholders. In fact, the stockholders and upper management of Telus are the ONLY people who have benefitted from this ass-clown running the company. " Oh yes, we have increased Telus' profits ". Yeah, but they have damaged their reputation as a good company, by laying off senior cablemen, phone call personel and the others in the liking.

I could go on and on about corperate greed and how it's destroying everything, but I'll save that for another rainy day.

The point is that all these " poor stranded people " that missed the boat are fucking idiots to begin with. With the exception of the guys driving the big rigs back and forth to the island as part of their run, all these people should have known better, as job action at the ferry terminal is old news since they began talking about it in middle of October. It's playing russian roulette with the service.

Bottom Line: Public is always the victim in a transportation service strike, so blame the company, not the workers union.
