Learning about Compassion

It is not unusual from time to time for someone to take a dig at me - I guess that is one of the downsides of being in the public eye. However, somethings I wonder what my "foes" are trying to achieve with such flame throwing ... especially considering that their postings are usually anonymous.

It saddens me that there are certain individuals with the Pagan community who feel it necessary to make such "attacks" - not necessarily because of myself being the recent victim, but simply because such "attacks" are largely based on heresay. Surely the local Pagan community is really too small to have such negativity directed from within. After all, such internal jealousy, envy and heresay is how many hundreds, if not thousands, of people lost their lives only a couple of hundred of years ago ...

The last round of negativity that has been directed at me actually caused me to step back and view it from a different approach ... instead of simply taking this person's negativity and anger as being personally directed at me, I considered the person themselves ...

and I felt sorrow and sadness that the only way they can express themselves is by making anonymous "attacks". Such action can surely only come from immense internal suffering and pain ...

I realised that instead of feeling hate, or pity - I felt compassion for my "foe" for it seems that I am able to progress along my spiritual path (which has many twists and turns) yet they appear to be stuck.

Blessings - Frances
