Hi Melinda! I want to apologize for not responding sooner to your response to my post concerning the topic of the pineapple and use of a stun gun. I have two children and a full time job, so time is not something I have alot of!
Your claimed in your response to me that the autopsy report stated that the food found in JonBenet's stomach MAY be pineapple, which leaves room for the possibility that it may not be. This is true, however when an autopsy report is prepared various samples taken from the body such as stomach contents, are preserved for further analysis after the body has been buried. This is also the reason why photographs are taken.These are tools that detectives and other forensic experts can examine at a later date and make further determinations. In fact this is exactly what happened in regards to the question of a stun gun. The autopsy report DID NOT state that a stun gun was the cause of the abrasions, but when pictures of the body were shown to Lou Smit he introduced the theory that they may have been. As a result these pictures were brought to the attention of other pathologists who were more skilled in recognizing stun gun abrasions. In the case of the pineapple, the stomach contents were re-examined by other pathologists more skilled in this area and they not only determined that it was indeed pineapple, but that it was fresh instead of canned.
Not one investigator or pathologist involved in this case has disputed that the contents were indeed pineapple. In fact it seems to be the one of the issues that they all agree on!
John Douglas, a Ramsey supporter, discusses the subject of the pineapple in his book, The Cases That Haunt Us. He never says it may not be pineapple.
Lou Smit, another Ramsey supporter, in his interview with John Ramsey on June 24,1998, says the following:
"the pineapple is inside her so we have to figure out how that pineapple got there. She had to eat it at some point."
John Ramsey responds: Are you sure it was pineapple?
Lou Smit responds; "No question. No question. So thats always been the big bugaboo"
Smit never disputed the time frame given to him by the pathologists which stated that the pineapple was ingested 2-5 hours before she died. He repeatedly brought up the topic of the pineapple with Ramsey because the estimated time of death was between 12:00-2:00 AM. If she was put to bed at nine like stated, then it may indicate that someone is not being truthful.
You also stated that JonBenet did not like pineapple. If this was the case than why didn't the Ramsey's ever state this to Smit or other investigators?
In fact John Ramsey stated the opposite to Smit on June 25,1998;
Smit says; "You see that, that pineapple is a clue. I mean that's in the case."
Ramsey responds: "lets have the hypothesis that she ate the pineapple sometime between 9PM when she came home and we founda bowl of pineapple on the kitchen table. I know for a fact that I didn't do it,serve her pineapple. I know for a fact that Patsy didn't because she said she didn't...but if it was somebody she knew....JohnBenet liked pineapple, no question about it"
Patsy Ramsey also stated to detective Tom Haney on June 25,1998 when asked about whether JonBenet liked it, she said; "Yeah she liked it."
I also read the book that the Ramsey's wrote themselves and not one time did they state that JonBenet did not like Pineapple.
So the question remains who fed her the pineapple after she got home that night? If an intruder fed it to her, then based on the pathology report that states that she died at least two hours after eating it, this means that he waited around for two hours before killing her. That's hard to believe.
Is it possible that Jonbenet got up and got it her self? Sure,but the only fingerprints found on the bowl were Burkes and Patsy's. I find Burke's prints on the bowl to be a little strange because Patsy did state that Burke was the one that did not really like pineapple. Possibly Burke fed pineapple to her that night which accounts for his prints on the bowl. He told told police that he went to bed and did not see JonBenet after they got home.
I'ts obvious that someone is not telling the truth.
I've gotta go but i will post again to discuss the stun gun theory.
