You are right on! We have a 50 year history with them. Any CCSU graduate pre2000 can remember the rivalry that was built up between the two schools over the years. Whether we're D1 or D111 this is an in-state rivalry that should be continued. Southern plays in a tough conference and it will be a good game before a large crowd. Watch how the New Haven Register will cover this one.

Lots of national press on how this is CCSU's first season ever with schollys. I know this is the NEC's 1st year of scholly (instead of need-based aid), maybe that's what the stories really mean.

CCSU unlike most of the NEC, was a D-II program prior to 1993. Didn't we give out schollys before when we were a D-II team? We didn't ahve a great program, but didn't we give aid with our conference peers?

Southern Conn. made the D-II playoffs for the first time last season. The have always been a very good D-II team. Anyone know their scholly level in the past and now?
