Bruce is great and coach was fine, I'd like to see the fans ask more game stuff and less "when are we gonna be like UConn" nonsense.

I agree, it was a good show. Coach and Bruce were good. Coach is a real team player - plugging other teams and programs. Sounds like he wants to create a real student and fan friendly environment.

The GSU win brought not only excitment, but thoughts of what's possible for the program. I don't think its so much "we want to be UConn," but when you look at some of the teams we have played that are our "peers" - like Rhode Island or Maine - which plays all its games against good or "name" I-AA teams and then gets a paycheck to play at UConn or Boston Collge once in a while, that's very appealing. I like Coach's response - we have a niche as the ONLY public I-AA team in the state and with full funding anything is possible. Let's just win the games on our schedule now. Creating a great game day atmosphere with tailgating, etc. sound like were are are the right path.

Questions about the QB situation and Justise were good. Maybe coach could bring along a few senior players to talk about practices/training schedules, environment at GSU, scouting the next opponent.

A sad fact is for most people its very hard to get excited playing lowly St. Peter's in Jersey City, after the GSU results and Albany hype. The next big game is at Monmouth - but coach has to keep the players head in it one game at a time, which is not so easy for the fans!

I did enjoy it! It was nice to have more info on the team.
as usual I have some questions:
Will this be a weekly thing?
can you make this into a podcast so I can put it on my MP3 player ??

right now it is being pitched for a weekly show, with last night a test run of sorts. the goal is to have FB and MBB shows on in the very near future, but this was step #1. Podcast......let me look into it. If all you want is to have Coach Mac in your pocket, just donate a couple hundred thousand dollars :)

Great show. Coach Mac is a great speaker and fun to listen to. That, in and of itself, may draw people to the show, the luncheons, and other speaking engagements. Ya gotta love his enthusiasm! I agree with the "can we be like UCONN nonsense". Lets carve out a good, solid D-1AA nitch and stop comparing everything we do with UCONN.

By the way...I had an issue with that caller and it's a pet peeve of mine. There IS NO Division 1-A IN BASKETBALL FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! As far as the fans are concerned D-1 football is the only sport that is sub-divided to 1A and 1AA. The caller claimed Howie brough the basketball program to the 1-A level, which is impossible because there is no D-1A in basketball.

Sorry...it just irks me that people, some who should know better too, don't understand the NCAA breakdown.

I like this deal...steps in the right direction. Carving a niche in I-AA, rankings etc. I LOVE the idea of a MBB show, Howie is a riot to talk to/about. Also let's not forget the Soccer team ranked #19 with Harrison/Howe as 2 of the premier players in the country. CCSU academic reputation & athletic reputation are both on the rise!!!!
